It did not stop other Easter traditions - namely time with family, a pork dish (in our case, Sonny's BBQ) for lunch, and Easter egg hunts and filled baskets for the kiddos. My parents arrived the night before for a 2 week trip to help us unpack, and James' family drove down from Atlanta so we could all be together. The kiddos thoroughly enjoyed all the attention!
The Easter Bunny brought some Babiators (for both), Natives (for JB) and pacis (for Maryn).
The egg hunt took place inside of our barely furnished, dusty, box-filled living room. JB didn't seem to mind at all!
JB has asked told his Gia that he wanted two (not one, but two) dinosaur books for Easter, and she obliged! Aunt Wyllene sent dinosaur toys, too. And then both children received their bird figurines (an Easter tradition from Gia).
JB does not believe Easter egg hunts should be limited to Easter day. We've hidden those eggs about 45 times a day for the past 2 weeks. And because he's spoiled rotten by both grandparents, many times those hunts result in presents and sweets. (When I hide them we reuse the empty plastic eggs - because Mama is no fun…)

Maybe not the Easter celebration that we are used to, but still a beautiful day and season. And no matter how we celebrate, the reason for Easter remains - this year, every year and every day.
Lives again, our glorious king, Alleluia
Where, O death, is now thy sting, Alleluia
Once He died, our souls to save, Alleluia
Where's thy victory, boasting grave, Alleluia

Easter was rainy and gross, and Garrison was not really interested in hunting eggs, but man, easter eggs are his FAVORITE toys now. He carries them all over the house. Glad you've gotten lots of help from the grandparents as you unpack.
