Some of the best parts of having a daughter: girls' trips! It doesn't matter if girls are 5 or 50, I don't know what females don't enjoy that time together. I love my girl time, and spending it with my Number 1 gal is even better. Maryn is an absolute delight one-on-one, and makes you feel like the most special person in the world when she's with you. (When she's surrounded by her 2 brothers she can very quickly fall into "annoying middle sister" mode, so we take the delightful when we can get it, haha).
The boys left us for a weekend at the lake with the McLeod boys, as our girls' weekend included the McLeod girls. Maryn and I got an extra Friday afternoon/evening by ourselves, so we partook in manis, snow cones and shopping. Maryn choose bright yellow for her nails, her current favorite nail shade.
That Saturday we headed out early, stopping for breakfast at Local Yokal and then hitting Atlanta around lunch time.
We met up with Becca and Lily to start our trip. Fortunately we could check into the hotel, which was conveniently right across from the Fox Theatre. The highlight of our trip: Frozen, the Musical!
Maryn loved the show. All the kids (maybe the adults, too) sang along to the wildly popular songs, and the Let It Go number blew us away!! Maryn could not stop talking about her wardrobe change, while I couldn't believe her voice. Of course, the snacks were also a huge hit :)
After the show we made our way over to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens to walk around, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, and grab dinner. I've only been once, and I don't know why I didn't go more when we lived in Atlanta. Gorgeous!
The next day we headed over to the favorite Sasser breakfast spot: R Thomas (aka "the bird place"). It never disappoints.
We had a wonderful weekend. I can't stop thinking about it and planning another girls' trip! Love this fierce little red head, and our sweet besties. May this be the first of many for the four of us.
