Wesley has lots of new words this month - and attempts to say many, many more. He loves to point at things, say the word multiple times, as if to ensure you that he knows what he's talking about. He walks the yard and points to puddles, saying "wa wah? wa wah!" He's mastered the word "no", "nuh uh", "nah". He has started to vocalize the different animal sounds and car/truck sounds when he plays. It's very cute.

Wesley insists on drinking from everyone else's cup, all day long. I have watched him run up to the picnic table and sequentially take a sip out of three different Contigo spout cups, like he's laying claim. He'll find cups in other people's purses and diaper bags, and take a sip. So much germ sharing, uuuuuugh.
He loves, loves, loves trucks, tractors and airplanes. He'll push them around on his hands and knees for a good 30 minutes without ever looking up. It's the way we now survive the County Club (and, yes, we get some looks with our baby crawling around the floor - but he's occupied!!!). He can spot a plane the moment it comes into range, pointing up and saying "ah-pai! ah-pai!" He loves any type of equipment, and has hijacked our neighbor's twin's lawnmower (as seen in all these pictures).

Wesley is freakishly strong. He's moving up in height/weight percentile (20% now, although still somewhat small), but his ability to push, lift or carry really heavy things amazes me. The other day, in the grass, he managed to push his Cosy Truck with Maryn sitting on top of it, all over the yard, as if it were no big deal. He can throw a ball so hard that his siblings will yelp out in pain. Crazy.
Overall, Wesley is just very content. People comment on how "calm" he is, and how happy he is just playing by himself or casually following around his siblings. Perhaps third child syndrome? Perhaps it's just his personality? "Chill" is not a trait that James and I are familiar with - in our own lives, or with the other two children - so this phenomenon fascinates us.
Not to say that he can't or won't throw a tantrum...because he will. And they are fierce. It's that tough age where he completely understands what he wants but is unable to vocalize. Whew. Also that age where they just screech and scream for fun. :)
Love you, little guy! Little guy who's growing up and now 19 months old!
