Such Wonderful Easter Memories (and Announcements!)

It's sad to think this is my last post about Easter, seeing as they have dominated the blog the past month.  It was such a wonderful Easter season, wrapped up with a beautiful Easter day with our family.

Including the big news on social media that we will have a third little bunny with us next Easter!! Although we've known for a while (and will more formally write about this little one later in the week) and everything is looking great, I'm always a little cautious about making it "Facebook official".  But it was entirely necessary since it's quite obvious in all of the pictures. :)

But, backing up (with pictures to prove all the fun)!  Gia came down on Friday with Uncle Chris, Aunt Nicole and baby Addison (James' family).  Saturday morning we all went to the Farmer's Market for yet another egg hunt.  JB can't get enough, while Maryn immediately ran and took shelter in her aunt's arms the second the scrambling began.  (And there weren't even helicopters or bunnies!)

One of the egg vendors brought baby chicks, but my city children wouldn't touch. (They need some more experience now that we live out in the country!)

That afternoon we decided to attempt a formal Easter Bunny picture. I had hoped that Maryn's visceral reaction at church was a one time thing (it wasn't). Baby Addison took a lovely first bunny pic, while Maryn screamed the entire time we were in line. Even JB - who is better with the bunny now - wouldn't sit anywhere near him.  No bunny pics for us this year!

The kids opened presents from their Gia and Aunt Wyllene that afternoon.  Superhero toys, PJ Mask cars, and books for the win!

Later that evening the children dyed Easter eggs for the first time.  Mama may have been more excited than they were, but I'll call it a success.  No eggs were broken, only one dye cup spilled.

The next morning we made a quick decision to distract the kids from the Easter Bunny's overnight gift giving/egg hiding activities so we could make it out the door for church. JB didn't notice his Easter basket all morning, but Maryn noticed it the second she got up!  That meant a quick look before getting into our Easter best (and promising 1,000 times that we would hunt eggs the second we got back.)

Following a wonderful church service and forced family pictures, we arrived home and the egg hunt began.  I'm proud of JB for letting his sister fill her basket, too, then sharing the goodies when he opened the eggs.

The Easter Bunny didn't go crazy with candy, but he did hide Peeps, (organic) fruit roll ups, and a special Owlette (JB's favorite PJ Mask character that he didn't yet have) in all the eggs.

No one seemed to notice when Maryn stole and ate nearly all the Peeps in one sitting (before lunch!!)

Lunch consisted of a baked ham, green beans with bacon, oven roasted potatoes, deviled eggs, and dinner rolls. Not my fanciest spread, but everyone seemed to enjoy.
