Happy Halloween 2015

We filled this Halloween with lots of festivities, cuteness, and candy.  The kids cooperated with their adorable costumes, and the weather provided us a very cool, damp Fall-ish night.  Our neighborhood blocked off a street for Spooky on Springdale, and our friends on Sprindale had a big house party that we enjoyed way late into the evening.  Fun for all!

These kiddos, let me tell you - so stinkin' cute.  JB went as an "ah ah" (what he calls a monkey, based on what the money says), and because he wore a red shirt with his costume he was quite amused that he and George were twinkies.  (He also insisted on carrying George with him, so everyone was put on high alert to watch that monkey, less he was lost for bedtime.  That would have been a Halloween disaster.)

And what do monkeys love?  BANANAS!  So little Maryn spent her first Halloween dressed up as fruit.  Sweetest piece of fruit I've ever seen.

Put them both together and you have COORDINATED CUTENESS!!!  I hope they never get too big for me to select their outfits.  (Wishful thinking?)

Spooky on Springdale was more than just a blocked off street.  It was a street party - complete with food, games, kegs, and huge screens for all the SEC games.  Such a great time.

It also meant a safe place for JB to Trick-or-Treat.  It took a while for him to remember what he was supposed to do, so Gia and Aunt Wyllene patiently took him to a few houses to show him.

By the second house, he was an old pro.  Wasn't even phased by some extra spooky (creepy??) decorations in the yards.

Walking back to our house, JB insisted on stopping at every single door. He kept yelling "MORE!"

The kid got waaaaaaay more candy than Mama had hoped (but fortunately he grabbed some good stuff, too - I'm looking at you, Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, my old friend...)  Something tells me next year he will wise up to my tricks and notice that his pumpkin went from full to empty overnight.  :)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
