Annual Carving Contest

It's that time of year, where our neighbors get together for the sole purpose of carving a pumpkin (not eating, drinking and socializing - no sir, we are serious about the PUMPKINS.) It's our 4th annual contest, and - as usual - everyone brought their A game.  The group has expanded a bit, and not just with kiddos. Tools of choice this year were also taken up a notch with several power tools (thank you Pinterest).

I did not get a picture of us getting to the party, but, for a visual, Maryn was in the k'tan carrier, JB was walking and holding my hand (stopping to say "hello" to all the super creepy ghosts and skeletons hanging in the yards), and James was pushing food and our (massive) pumpkin in the double stroller with Enda heeling beside him.  We got lots of honks and waves on the way down...

JB got to play with his bed bud, Mac, while Ends got to run around with her golden doodle pals, Peter and Tina. And they all (Enda included) ate endless supplies of Cheese-its so everyone was thrilled.

Best I could get of two busy boys

James decided size does matter and brought a huge pumpkin. He rethought this decision when it came time to clean it...

After some delicious chili and snacks, it was time to carve.  We had this wonderful backdrop for added entertainment (name this movie!)

Quite a good looking bunch of pumpkins, don't you think?? Lamar was our judge, but totally biased and awarded the winner to Molly (who carved "Lamar" in her pumpkin.) But better than her pumpkin last year (which got censored on the blog, if you recall...)

We were robbed!
(Molly still loves to have a little fun, and the non-nursing party goers were treated to Halloween Shots.)

(Which I suspect were not as weak as she promised, judging by these faces…)

Another great neighbor night for the books!  Love this group.
