First, we were late. Trying to get out of the house this morning was delayed because Enda realized I had taken out her travel bag and refused to leave. With one "oh, heeeeeell no" look, she planted herself firmly on the couch. So getting her to Doguroo was a challenge. Plus, JB refused his cold milk, so we had to go back into the house after everyone was loaded to warm up his milk. (#spoiledrottenchild)
Then, the airport was nutso. Then, we learned the hard way that Southwest requires proof of age for any infant in arms. Which we did not have. Womp Womp. Fortunately a group of Southwest ladies all agreed that JB does not yet look two, and the fact he wears 9 month pants helped. :)
They had the security line all jacked up, and the elevator lines were 15 minutes long. We took JB in and out of the stroller (and opened and collapsed the stroller) no less than 6 times between the car and the plane. JB loved the tram between the terminals, but his tummy was not a fan of the movement (so this time we got on the plane with vomit already on his clothes.)
Totally forgetting that Southwest has no assigned seating, we decided to forgo breakfast (and coffee!!!) so we could get a decent seat. Just when I was on the verge...things started to turn pretty quickly.
James had priority boarding, and left me with the stroller while he took JB on the plane. The SW agent made such a big deal about me having to "handle the stroller all by myself" that he let me on, too. JB was delightful for an hour, then promptly fell asleep for an hour. As we landed, JB stood up on my lap and waved to everyone!!
Then we got breakfast tacos (yeaaaaaa!) in the airport!!
And JB's Uncle Kelly was waiting for us at baggage claim!
And, WE'RE IN TEXAS!!!! :)
Happy Friday to everyone!

Oh man, what an adventure!!! And hilarious that you used his pants size to help establish his underage-ness. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the official size 9m for verification of age. Glad they didn't give you too much grief! Enjoy your time in Texas with your family!
ReplyDeleteYay! Welcome home!
