My sweet Daddy, our Gran Gran, turned 80 years old on December 27, 2021. This seems UNREAL to me, considering that he looks and behaves like a young and healthy 60 year old. We are so blessed with his good health and presence, and we celebrated him with a party of family and friends on his actual big day. Fortunately we made it there in time, amid Omicron, mass flight cancellations across the US, and sold out rental cars! But we wouldn't have missed it - and would have travelled across the South in whatever way necessary to celebrate.
Shawntel, our family's grand hostess, threw a fantastic get together at their beautiful home, complete with quite the spread and a well stocked bar. While Daddy knew that our immediate family would be there to eat, he didn't know that close friends from Waco (and beyond) would also show up to celebrate. So much fun!
