Little Weekend Getaway - Last One as a Family of Four!

We hit 36 weeks of pregnancy this Sunday, which means I'm about to start saying "this is the last XYZ before the baby comes" for every momentous (or routine) occasion.  I do this every time.  I may not be a sappy person, but I am a nostalgic person.

So this weekend: last little getaway as a family of four!  The McLeod's invited us to their lake house for some R&R, and after clearing the 1.5 drive with the doc we left Friday after work.  JB started saying "this is going to take SO LONG" about 5 minutes into the trip, but smooth, uneventful drive. Which led into a smooth, uneventful weekend - but full of FUN.

There was lots of swimming (both daytime swimming in loads of protective clothing and then skinny dipping at night - THE LITTLE BOYS, not the adults, haha).

Lots of battery-operated vehicles, jumping, chasing, etc.

FISHING!  JB and Maryn's first time fishing!  Both enjoyed the fishing, though we did not enjoy fishing in panic mode that someone would fall off the dock.

Lots of FOOD. We have BBQ on Friday night, Texas brisket for Saturday lunch, then the (big) boys fried fish on Saturday night.  (Big) girls contributed lots of sides, and Becca made some type of pudding/whipped topping/candy/peanut butter dessert that I ate after every single meal (including breakfast). Sunday morning we had a good little bacon sandwich on white bread from the convenience store.  YUM.

These two boys are such sweet friends.  And they let little sister hang out, too. Starting next year, Baby Boy Sasser will have a new little girlfriend in Baby Girl McLeod!  Can't wait to see all these friendships continue.
