First Week of Preschool!

Exciting times in our house this week as both kiddos started Preschool at The Learning Tree!  JB began the PreK 3 class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and Maryn started the PreK 2 class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  They actually have the same two teachers, so say a little prayer as they take on at least one Sassy kid every day of the week!  :)

JB attended camp at this same school all summer, so he was very NBD about the whole "first day of school".  He did oblige me with some pictures, including lots of silly ones of course.  After school he talked about all his "new friends" and really enjoyed everything.

Obviously we were more concerned with Maryn, seeing as she's never really attended any type of school (other than the church nursery). However, she clearly understood the concept and excitedly got ready on her first day.  She didn't fight me to get dressed, wouldn't eat her breakfast, kept reminding me "backpack, BACKPACK" and ran to the car.  She didn't whine, didn't cry, didn't show any sort of hesitation - she did great! The second day I took her she practically beat down the door for them to let her in, yelling "BYE!" to me without even making eye contact.  Maryn is disappointed the days when she drops brother off and doesn't get to go inside. Hoping she loves school for the next 20+ years or so!!  

We have a (good) problem in our small little town of so many great preschools.  We made a move this year, which is always nerve-wracking as a parent (did I make the right decision!?), but we're feeling so blessed after this first week that we've landed at a great place for our kiddos.  Here's to a great school year!!
