For all the many, many years I went to San Antonio (at least 20 in a row, starting as a wee infant at my first Folk Life Festival in 1982), I can't believe it's taken me this long to take my own children to the city. I can also say that not much has changed in the 20+ years since I last visited!
After a rainy drive from Houston (not easy to get in/out of San Antonio from Savannah, so we flew to Houston and drove the three hours over), we arrived at our rental house late on Sunday night. The kids immediately loved the bright colors, yard games, and bunk beds. And the location could not be beat.
The next day we took the kids to Sea World for a very full day of rides and shows. Since Texas school always schedule Spring Break earlier than Georgia schools, we practically had the park to ourselves. And the weather! Spectacular! Sunny and about 70 degrees. Perfection.
JB and I rode each and every ride, most of them twice. We got Wesley on one rollercoaster until he said, "no more", and then Maryn only sat in the seat of a roller coaster...without riding a thing.
Grammy and Gran Gran came down to San Antonio while we were at Sea World. Despite a long day, we all managed to rally for a very exciting San Antonio Spurs game that evening. So much fun! And to see Wemby play up close and in person - so super cool. The Spurs are having their best season in a couple of decades, so the energy was high.

Great pictures! Still bummed that we didn’t get to see y’all! Hopefully this summer!
