Galveston, Texas - Spring Break 2023

Well it may not have the clear waters and the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean, but Galveston holds a special place in my heart because, first, TEXAS, and, second, the Kerrs.  We spent Spring Break 2023 in The Great State with our great Kerr side of the family - and had a blast.

This is our second trip to Galveston (first trip, Thanksgiving 2019), and we specifically targeted the bay side of the island, away from the main drag.  It allows for near constant fishing, as it's super easy to walk outside and drop a line or a net, plus is a much easier vibe.  The other Kerr siblings booked their houses after we booked ours, and it was a great party nearly every day!

A few of us went to Moody Gardens one day to enjoy the aquarium, rainforest, as well as the 4D movie. Kiddos loved having cousins Tristan and Tori by their side.

It felt a little cool to swim, but we definitely took advantage of the hot tub on the property.  Of course, the cooler temps did not keep the kiddos off the beach!

After most of the other family left to return to work, we headed into Galveston to enjoy the Strand, train museum, art galleries, and fun restaurants. It's just like I remembered as a kid - which is fun, seeing as I'm now showing around my own kids!

After a very busy week, we wrapped up quietly with one more evening at home with Grammy and Gran Gran.  The wind picked up and we got to watch quite a storm come in over some drinks and leftovers.

The next day we said our goodbyes and headed back to the airport, where we had to kill several hours before our flight. We took advantage with a trip to Minute Maid Park (JB has been dying for a Pena jersey!) and a trip to Kim Sons.

A great way to end the week.  I am always so grateful that Texas and Georgia are not THAT far away, and we get to spend time with both of our families throughout the year.
