Well, our "year of transitional living" (as I fondly refer to it) came to a close as we moved into our new main house in mid-August. Our summer living situation consisted of the rental house (for just the last part of May), the Farm in Dublin, the Carriage House in Richmond Hill, and then hotels and places in between.
I'm glad we used June to slowly migrate into our new community, still taking part in some things we love in Dublin. Once we got to Richmond Hill there was nothing scheduled except exploring the new town - which was fun!
Just a quick recap: we had lots of fun at the Dublin Country Club events this summer.

The kids were very diligent about completing their summer worklists, which included cursive for JB, handwriting for Maryn, lots of reading for all, and Khan Academy for math. They got all their stickers and were rewarded with Defy!
James planted a massive garden, with the help of the Farm caretaker, William, and we enjoyed SO MUCH produce all summer long! I could not find enough recipes to use all the zucchini and okra and peppers.
The kids and I loved VBS at our church, and while they got to hang out with their classes I was the crew chief for the 1st graders. So much fun.
The kids went to their last Wednesday Lego Day at the library, which certainly brought tears to my eyes. We've loved the Laurens County Library - and all their children's programs - since we moved there in 2016. They had a 530PM story time which this working Mama loved and appreciated. It's hard to say goodbye!
And we also had to tell our favorite twins HAPPY BIRTHDAY in the summer!
After the trip to
North Carolina to pick up JB from camp, we made our way down to Richmond Hill so that we could settle in before school started in early August. We had a great time finding the parks, museums, walking along the water in Savannah, etc.
Our neighborhood community has a wonderful Naturalist that hosted various things for the kids. Our kiddos are becoming quite the birders!!
The heat. And humidity. Absolutely OPPRESSIVE! But we survived July and August thanks to the pool and ice cream.
We explored the wetlands one day (in the oppressive July heat) and will be back in the winter when it's cooler...and less bugs :)
Most every night we spent on the dyke, cast netting and fishing. I think we're going to love it here... :)
Grammy and Gran Gran came to visit (which we went to our annual Mayo visit - all good!) and we took some time to visit Darien and the Fort George historical site.
Always love it when they come to visit (and appreciate how flexible they were since our house is still in disarray and there are contractors there every day!)
A neighbor gifted us a family membership to the Telfair Museum - and we have loved visiting every chance we get!
I keep saying it but BRAVO, kiddos!! You doing GREAT in your new town and we're so thankful for that!
